  • CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS – CAROLINE SHUTTLE

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon creating beautiful glass ornaments with Caroline Shuttle.  Caroline is an excellent teacher/coach.  Working with each of us individually she provided just the right degree of inspiration, technical guidance and encouragement to free up our creative spirits.  My children and grandchildren are in awe of their new Christmas ornaments.   Thank you Caroline!

  • FREESTYLE OILS – MARGARET MCFETRIDGE

Margaret taught me to paint freely using larger brushes and brush strokes than I was used to, a technique I plan to use for my future paintings. I totally enjoyed her classes.

…Thanks again…I have learned new techniques, an appreciation for using large brushes and had fun doing it.

  • RELIEF LINO PRINTING WORKSHOP – CHRISSY POITRAS & KYLE TOPPING

Thank you both for a fabulous six hours of workshop. We were saying what a great team of teaching and coaching you are together, just the perfect complementary approaches, how well you organized the content/flow of the two days and of what high quality your workshop is. We enjoyed it very much and know so much more about what we can create and how. We’ll be back for some colour some time!

  • BEAD WEAVING – VICKI SHARP

Vicki Sharp is a patient and welcoming teacher, and is an expert at her craft.  I’m pleasantly surprised at the beautiful beaded bracelet that I created in a workshop with Vicki. I wear it with pride, having made it myself, and I always get compliments. I would love to take another beading workshop with Vicki.

  • BEAD WEAVING – VICKI SHARP

I heard about your workshops on 99.3 County FM. I decided to take the beading workshop by Vicki Sharp and was blown away. Her studio is beautiful, and her patient style of teaching is perfect for a beginner. Look forward to taking future courses offered by Baxter Studio School.

  • FREESTYLE OILS – MARGARET MCFETRIDGE

I was lucky to be accepted into Margaret’s first workshop.  It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience even though I was the least experienced in working with oils.  That didn’t phase either her or me.  I was able to have questions answered even before the day arrived.  Her instructions for a colour pallet, brush and canvas sizes as well as paint sources came well in advance of the anticipated day, allowing us to come fully prepared.

She willingly shared her tricks of the trade with all four of us.   Throughout the two day time allotment, she quietly encouraged each of us, pointing out the good qualities and how to improve the renderings, with a positive approach.

The time for assembling and work time was perfect for me as most non artists don’t realize how much energy it takes to produce a piece of work.  Three hours was plenty. Margaret always conveys a joyful, positive approach and she did just that in demonstrating her technique to us.

I found her studio so conducive and motivating with its sunny spaciousness.   Added to that was Margaret herself, ready to laugh and listen to others.
